FAQ
The calculator uses industry benchmarks: average payroll manager salaries from BLS data, platform pricing from published rates, and PEO estimates from NAPEO research. Your actual costs may be higher or lower depending on your market, benefits structure, and current platform. The discovery call replaces the estimate with an exact number.
The in-house estimate includes base salary, employer FICA (7.65%), health insurance contribution, PTO, overhead, and HR management time -- all costs that are real but rarely tracked in a single line item. Most companies only see the salary. The total cost of the function is typically 1.25x to 1.4x base salary once all-in costs are included.
Everything: payroll processing, direct deposit, tax withholding and remittance, quarterly and annual filings, W-2 preparation and delivery, new hire reporting, garnishment processing, year-end close, and employee support for paycheck questions.
All-inclusive. The $25 PEPM covers full managed payroll service when BEG operates in your existing system. The $45 PEPM covers full managed payroll service when BEG migrates you to isolved. Both rates include everything listed above. Your discovery call confirms the exact rate for your situation before you commit to anything.
The calculator does not differentiate by state count -- BEG covers all 50 states at the same flat rate. Multi-state registrations, state-specific filings, and local tax handling are all included. If you have employees in multiple states, mention that on your discovery call so we can confirm all registrations are in place.
